Last.fm enables you to download Spotify songs for offline listening and can scrobble the last 50 songs that you've played offline when you connect Wi-Fi network or cellular data again. If you want to suspend Last.fm scrobbling function, then you can start a Private Session. There used to be two ways to do that either use the Spotify app or the Last.fm. But Spotify has deleted the option to connect to Last.fm via the Spotify settings menu, so you can only do the scrobbling settings via Last.fm now. Following is the instruction on how to do that via the website. Head to Last.fm website and login with your credentials. Spotify is a digital music service that gives you access to millions of songs. Spotify is all the music you’ll ever need. Listening is everything - Spotify. Disconnecting and reconnecting the last.fm application to your Spotify account should help clear things out as well. Make sure to remove the last.fm app from the list of your approved apps too before reconnecting last.fm to Spotify, you can do it here. Are the scrobbles still missing for you? ? Let me know how it goes!
I always scrobble the songs I listen to to Last.fm to get recommendations which also helps in discovering new music based upon my taste. When I used to play music locally on the computer, I used the official Last.fm scrobbler to do the task. When I switched to Google Music,I used the Last.fm scrobbler script for the task.
Now though I have moved on to Spotify, I still find myself using the Last.fm scrobbler. But unlike the above two, I don’t need to use an additional tool to scrobble the music. The Last.fm scrobbler comes integrated with both the desktop and the smartphone app of Spotify. So let’s see how we can use this feature.
On Spotify for Desktop
Open Spotify Preferences from Edit ->Preferences. From here you can control almost every aspect of Spotify.
Here, under the Activity Sharing section, check the option Scrobble to Last.fm and type in your Last.fm username and password. The changes are saved instantly and all the songs you play on Spotify will be updated to Last.fm automatically.
On Spotify for Mobile or Smartphones
Open the sidebar on Spotify app and tap on settings to open Spotify app settings
Scroll down to find the option Last.fm scrobbling and type in your Last.fm credentials to enable the scrobbling.
So that was how you can scrobble your Spotify tracks to Last.fm. However, there is no way you can control the percentage of music you want to play before Last.fm scrobbles it but I guess that’s not much of a deal breaker.

How to connect your music app to last.fm
We use last.fm music stats in Exist. Far from leaving Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer and other music app users out in the cold, this actually lets us get data from many more apps all in one go. Last.fm can connect to most major music apps, scrobbling (tracking) what you listen to with just a one-time setup.
Then you can use Exist to get insights about your music listening habits and how listening to music affects your mood, your sleep patterns and your likelihood to exercise. Here are some of the correlations I have from my last.fm data:
Here's how to get your music app connected to last.fm:

iTunes
For your iTunes tracks to scrobble to your last.fm profile, you'll need the last.fm desktop app.
Once you've downloaded the app, sign in and open the settings/preferences menu. In here, you'll find a menu option called 'Scrobbling' where you can adjust your preferences.
The app can also show you stats about your listening habits and your last.fm profile:
If you listen to music on an iPod, those tracks will be scrobbled when you sync your iPod with iTunes.
Spotify
Spotify has a built-in last.fm app, which you can find in the apps menu on desktop, or in the settings menu on mobile.
When you add the last.fm app, you'll need to login to your last.fm account to enable scrobbling.
Once you're in, your songs from Spotify will be scrobbled to your last.fm account and will update your stats. You can also see last.fm music recommendations inside Spotify:
iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch
On iOS, you can download the last.fm scrobbler app to scrobble tracks to your account. The app lets you play your music library and scrobbles tracks to your account.
Unfortunately, you can't scrobble tracks from the standard music player or other music apps like Spotify, as far as I can tell. You'll need to listen via the scrobbler app to make your tracks count.
The app is free, though, and includes some extra features like automatic playlists based on artists in your last.fm account and extra details like which artists from your phone's music library are currently on tour. You can also hit a button on the 'now playing' screen to make last.fm play similar music to the current song.
Android
On Android you can download the last.fm app and scrobble tracks from any music player on most Android phones.
The app can also use your phone's GPS to tell you about music events nearby, and in some countries you can access your last.fm personal radio stations as well.
